SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Nov. 9, 2013)-- Playing with heavy hearts, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad banded together to down host Drury University 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 26-24) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference showdown on Saturday inside the O'Reilly Family Events Center.

The Rangers (17-10, 7-7 GLVC) put together an inspiring performance, dedicating the match to senior Chelsea Neave's late grandfather.

UW-Parkside secured the lead for good at 18-17 in a tightly contested opening set, prevailing 25-21. The Rangers collected the final four points of set two, including back-to-back kills from Jeni Heller, earning the 25-19 decision

Little separated the two squads in the final set of the evening. UW-P enjoyed its largest lead of the set at 22-18 before host Drury (13-14, 6-8 GLVC) rallied, eventually tying the score at 24. A pair of Panther attack errors sealed the set 26-24 in favor of the visiting Rangers and cemented the match win.

Makenzie Fahnestock led the Rangers offensively, tallying 13 kills along with 10 digs while Bridget Nickel and Rebecca Roembke added nine kills and eight kills, respectively. Lauren Hickson collected 20 assists while Neave tallied a double-double, chipping in 14 assists and 11 digs. Sarah Mlachnik paved the way on defense with 17 digs while Roembke added 10.
