Women's Soccer Battles to Double Overtime Stalemate

LEBANON, Ill. (Oct. 4, 2013)-- Neither squad was able to find the back of the net after 110 minutes of play as the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and McKendree University settled for a 0-0 double overtime tie in a Great Lakes Valley Conference women's soccer match at Leemon Field.

The Rangers (5-2-2, 3-2-2 GLVC) owned a 7-1 edge in shots at the halftime break and ended regulation with a 15-7 advantage. five of the six shots tallied in the two extra sessions came off the boots of Bearcat (4-3-3, 2-2-3 GLVC) players. Five of UW-Parkside's 16 shots came off the foot of Kaela Hoecherl while Vianey Hernandez accounted for two of the squad's five shots on net.

Mallory Geurts logged her fourth shutout of the season, going the distance in goal and making six saves. McKendree's Maggie Dudas made five saves on the evening to also earn a clean sheet.

The Rangers return to the pitch on Sunday, facing Bellarmine University at 11 a.m.
