Volleyball Sinks Lakers, 3-1

AURORA, Ill. (Oct 26, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball squad closed out the 2013 GLVC-GLIAC Crossover Tournament with a spotless record, downing Lake Superior State University 3-1 (23-25, 25-14, 25-9, 25-15) on Saturday at the Great Lakes Center to finish the tournament 3-0.

The Lakers claimed a tight opening set 25-23 before the Rangers (14-9) tallied the next three sets to secure the match win. UW-P was tied 10-10 with LSSU in the second set before finishing the set on a 15-4 run to secure the 25-14 victory while leading wire-to-wire in a dominating 25-9 win in set three.

UW-Parkside tallied 10 of the first 12 points in set four, eventually securing the 25-15 set win to wrap up the match.

Kendyl Danelski led the Ranger attack with 13 kills while Lisa Gregerson added 12. Lauren Hickson posted a team-high 24 assists with Victoria Walsh and Makenzie Fahnestock leading the way with six digs.

The win was UW-P's third consecutive, downing the University of Findlay and Malone University by identical 3-0 counts on Friday to open the Crossover Tournament.

The Rangers return to action on Thursday, making the short trip to Milwaukee to face Cardinal Stritch University.
