RENSSELEAR, Ind. (Oct 18, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team opened its road swing on the right foot Friday night, breezing past host Saint Joseph's College 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-23) in a Great Lakes Valley Conference East Division clash at Sharf Alumni Fieldhouse.

The visiting Rangers (11-8, 5-5 GLVC) needed just three sets to emerge with the victory, improving to .500 in conference action.

Makenzie Fahnestock posted a double-double, registering a match-high 13 kills while collecting 15 digs. Bridget Nickel tacked on 11 kills with Jeni Heller adding a half dozen. Lauren Hickson accounted for 33 of the squad's 35 assists while Sarah Mlachnik led the defensive efforts with 19 digs.

Fahnestock and Heller each collected three blocks on the night while Rebecca Roembke claimed three of UW-Parkside's four service aces during the match.

Erin Hyland paced the host Pumas (6-13, 3-7 GLVC) with 11 kills while Anna Sacco added 10. Megan Sturm had 27 assists with ALyssa Guarnaccia collecting a team-best eight digs.

The Rangers continue their tour of Indiana on Saturday, facing the University of Indianapolis at 2 p.m.
