SOMERS, Wis. (Sept. 30, 2012)-- Controlling the pace of the game and netting a score in each half, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team cruised to a 2-0 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference newcomer McKendree University on Sunday at Wood Road Field.
The Rangers (6-3-1, 5-3 GLVC) opened the scoring in the 25th minute as
Emily Konior found the back of the net off a free kick by
Lauki'i Cheng. UW-Parkside enjoyed the one goal lead at the half, outshooting the hosts by a 11-3 margin, including a 6-1 advantage on shots on frame.
Ashley Meyer doubled the Ranger lead in the 68th minute, breaking away from the defense and beating the Bearcat (5-3-1, 4-3-1 GLVC) goalkeeper off a pass from
Alex Johnson.

Michelle Girard notched two saves to tally her second shutout of the season. Her Counterpart Maggie Dudas tallied five saves while yielding a pair of goals.
The victory pushes UWP's home unbeaten streak to 24 games (20-0-4), a streak that dates back to the 2010 season opener.
The Rangers return to the field on Friday, traveling to Missouri to face Maryville University.
