Evansville, Ind. – The UW-Parkside baseball team gave up three runs in the second inning of game two and could not came back in the game as they fell by a score of 3-2. The Greyhounds won game one by a score of 10-2.
The Rangers stay in Evansville to face the screaming Eagles tomorrow for a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader. Sunday's doubleheader is scheduled for a noon start.
Below are recaps from Saturday's doubleheader against Southern Indiana.
Game One (

Southern Indiana broke the scoreless tie in game one in the top of the third inning. The Screaming Eagles scored two runs on four hits off Rangers starter
Ryan Windt. After two and a half innings were complete the Rangers trailed 2-0.
The Screaming Eagles extended their lead in the top of the fifth inning. Southern Indiana continued to hit Windt in the fifth inning. After allowing two more runs the Rangers made a pitching change and went to
Josh Geiger. However, the pitching change did not matter as Southern Indiana added three more runs in the inning to lead by 7-0.
The Rangers broke onto the scoreboard in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and one out
Tyler Gieseking hit a sacrifice fly to center field scoring
Kirk Haviland. This was all the Rangers scored in the inning and trailed 7-1 after six innings.
Southern Indiana scored three more runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull ahead of UW-Parkside by a score of 10-1.
The Rangers did not threaten to score again until the bottom of the ninth inning.
Chris Glynn hit a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Cory Stonelake putting the Wolves down 10-2, which is the score the Wolves lost game one by.
Game Two (

The Screaming Eagles broke the scoreless tie in the top of the second inning. After Rangers starter,
Mike Nicks set Southern Indiana down in order in the first the Screaming Eagles offense woke up as they scored three runs on two hits and one error by UW-Parkside.
The Rangers cut the Screaming Eagles lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning. With runners on second and third,
John Brennan recorded a bunt single that scored
Brad Weatherman from third base. UW-Parkside left a runner stranded on third in the inning and after three complete innings the Rangers trailed 3-1.
UW-Parkside cut Southern Indiana's lead to one in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on first and second, Weatherman hit a ground ball to third base that Brennan Malham booted. On the play,
Mike Anderson came around to score putting the Rangers down 3-2.
The Rangers did not threaten again in the contest as they fall to the Screaming Eagles 3-2.
