SOMERS, Wis. (Nov. 2, 2012)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team made quick work of Great Lakes Valley Conference rival Saint Joseph's College on Friday evening, pummeling the visitors 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-12) inside DeSimone Gymnasium.

The Rangers (18-9, 7-8 GLVC) never trailed in the opening set, rattling off the final five points to finish off the Pumas 25-15. St. Joseph's (6-22, 1-14 GLVC) grabbed the first two points of the second set before UW-Parkside roared back, mounting an 8-2 surge to turn a 4-4 tie into a 12-6 buffer. UWP continued to put its foot on the accelerator, recording six straight points, including five off the serve of Sarah Mlachnik to balloon the buffer to 11 at 19-8, before finishing off the set with another 25-15 victory. The Rangers grabbed an early lead in set three and never looked back, piling on the final six points to secure the 25-12 set win, wrapping up the 3-0 match victory in a brisk 62 minutes.

Bridget Nickel terrorized the Pumas all night, posting a game-high 13 kills on 18 attacks with no errors while Meghan Conley added 11. Tricia Tirabassi and Chelsea Neave served up 22 and 18 assists, respectively while Mlachnik led the defensive charge with 12 digs.

Erin Hyland paced SJC with 11 kills. Megan Sturm tallied 11 assists while Alyssa Guernaccia led the team with 10 digs.

UW-Parkside closes out its home slate tomorrow afternoon, holding Senior Day against the University of Indianapolis with first serve slated for 3 p.m.
