RENSSELAER, Ind. (Oct. 21, 2012)-- Kaela Hoecherl came off the bench and tallied a pair of scores in a nine-minute stretch, helping the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's soccer team tally its eighth straight victory, downing host Saint Joseph's College 2-0 on Sunday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference match at Minielli Memorial Field.

Hoecherl opened the scoring in the 36th minute, scoring off an assist from Chrystal Chalery. The redshirt sophomore doubled the Rangers (11-3-1, 10-3 GLVC) advantage just nine minutes later. beating the goalie in a one-on-one situation in front of the net in what proved to be the final score of the day.

UW-Parkside held a 13-3 edge in shots on the Pumas (3-13-1. 2-11-1 GLVC) with the hosts unable to get off a shot the entire second half of play.

The Rangers, winners of eight straight, have outscored opponents by a 19-2 margin during that stretch while posting six straight shutouts. The UWP defense didn't allow a shot on goal by the Pumas and have now gone 572 consecutive minutes without allowing a score, a streak spanning across seven games.

Goalkeeper Michelle Girard picked up the clean sheet, logging all 90 minutes between the posts while SJC's Amanda Volk suffered the loss, recording six saves and allowing a pair of goals.

The Rangers close out the regular season on Wednesday, hosting Lewis University with kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m.
