Jenna Endisch knocked down five, first half three-pointers as the UW-Parkside women's basketball team jumped out to a 25-3 lead and cruised to a 79-42 conference victory over Illinois Springfield on Thursday night. The 23rd-ranked Rangers improved to 10-3 on the year (3-2 GLVC) while the Prairie Stars fell to 6-7 overall and 1-4 in the league.
Endisch had her best night as a Ranger as she went 5-for-6 from behind the arc to go with four free throws giving her 19 points before the break. Her previous career-high came last December with 15 against Olivet Nazarene. She scored five more in the second half, including her sixth three-pointer, and finished with 24.
Jadee Rooney scored 11 points and moved into third on the school's all-time scoring list.
Brittany Beyer added 10 points while
Kaitlyn Bettiga had six assists and five rebounds.
She combined with Rooney for back-to-back three's midway through the half to complete the 25-3 start. Endisch's final three of the half made it 38-11 helping the Rangers to an eventual 52-21 halftime lead. Parkside shot 67.7% in the half (21-for-31) and 66.7% from the three (6-for-9).
The lead would reach as many as 42 in the second half as Parkside moved back above .500 in the league.
The Rangers will wrap up the weekend homestand on Saturday when Quincy visits the DeSimone Gymnasium. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
