The UW-Parkside volleyball team knotted the match at a set a piece but was unable to get over the hump in a 3-1 loss (14-25, 25-15, 14-25, 16-25) against Ferris State University. The match was the second of four for the Rangers at the Bulldogs season opening tournament.
"We definitely pick up our level of play and intensity and had strings of good runs," said head coach,
Christine Paciero. "Unfortunately we couldn't keep up with Ferris ... a very well-rounded team."
After a rough first set the Rangers responded in the game two with a big 25-15 win. Unfortunately the Bulldogs controlled the rest of the match posting 25-14 and 25-16 wins to claim victory.
"We need to work on maintaining a high level of play through the entire set," said Paciero. "We had that at times but just couldn't sustain it."
Caroline Langer led the Rangers with 10 kills while
Addie Kramer contributed seven. Parkside hit just .144 for the match. The Bulldogs hit at a .313 clip with Anne Sutton registering 16 kills.
The Rangers will return to action Saturday with matches against California University of Pennsylvania and Upper Iowa University.
