Jill Vondrak allowed just three hits and didn't walk a batter as the Rangers jumped out to an early lead and defeated Ferris State University 4-1. Parkside dropped the second game of the day to Northwood University 6-4. The team is now 2-2 on their trip to the Rebel Spring Games in Florida.
Parkside got going immediately putting up three first inning runs.

Christine Holthus, and
Kirsten Luevano all singled to start the game with Leuvano's hit driving in a run. After two were retired
Meg McCormick stepped up and delivered a big two-out hit to drive in two and stake the Rangers to a 3-0 lead.
Vondrak then went to work retiring the first 12 she faced before an error ended the perfect game bid in the fifth. Another error in the inning put a running in scoring position but she was able to coax a pop-up to end the threat.
Ferris did breakthrough in the sixth with a lead-off home run but the Rangers immediately answered in the bottom half.
Nicki Ekstrom walked with two away before McCormick came through again, this time with a double to left center. The hit scored Ekstrom and made it 4-1.
Vonkdraw allowed a two-out hit but finished the game with her only strikeout and secured the Rangers second win of the season.
The Rangers recorded just five hits on the game with two coming from McCormick who drove in three runs. Four of the Rangers five hits came in the first inning.
Parkside lost later in the day to Northwood University 6-4. Details are not yet available.
