"It was two innings in a row there where we stepped up with some really big hits with two outs," added Fillipp.

Krista Kelly broke the ice with a two-run single and Nicki Ekstrom followed with a hit of her own to cut the lead to one.

Meg McCormick and Lani Grogan both reached to start the fourth inning rally and after two were retired Holthus came up with a big two-run triple to give the Rangers the lead. Luevano added to the cusion with a hit up the middle.

Vondrak was able to limit Saginaw to an unearned run in the sixth and stranded a lead-off single in the seventh.

Kelly and Holthus led the offense, each collecting two hits and two RBI.

"Krista had some tough luck last weekend," said Fillipp. "She hit the ball hard every time and nothing got through. Today she had a home run and hit in the first game and then two more hits the second game. She's had some good at-bats."
