Rangers Roll to Seventh Victory

Jadee Rooney was hot early finishing with 19 points and five three-pointers
Box Score The 20th-ranked UW-Parkside women's basketball team went into the holiday break on a high note with a 57-41 victory over Cardinal Stritch University. Jadee Rooney knocked down three consecutive threes in the opening minutes, and the Rangers never trailed in improving to 7-2 on the season. The Wolves, who are ranked 15th in NAIA Division II, is 8-3 on the year.

Rooney, who moved into fourth on the school's all-time scoring list, got the Rangers off to a good start as they jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the game's first five minutes. She finished with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. She also added a game-high six rebounds.

Danielle Slivka's three midway through gave Parkside's its biggest first half lead at 12. The Wolves did trim it down to eight but Jenna Endisch's three-pointer just before the buzzer made it 35-23 heading into the locker room.

The Rangers forced nine first half turnovers and turned them into 15 points to help build the lead.

Parkside was able to stretch the lead to 15 early in the second half. The score hovered in that territory for much of the remainder of the game.

Brittany Beyer helped Rooney out on the offensive end as she dropped in 10 points. Slivka matched Rooney's rebounding output with six.

The Rangers controlled the ball exceptionally well yet again with Kaitlyn Bettiga leading the attack. She dished out five assists while the Rangers turned the ball over only seven times as a team.

Cardinal Stritch fell victim to the aggressive and attacking defense of UW-Parkside and turned the ball over 18 times.

The Rangers are off for the next three and a half weeks finishing up first semester with finals around the corner. UW-Parkside will resume play at 5:30 PM Thursday December 29th at home against Indiana University Northwest.
