Volleyball Gets Back on Track with a Sweep of Maryville

The Rangers got back to their winning ways with a Sunday sweep in St. Louis
Box Score

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside volleyball team got back to its winning ways with a three-set sweep of Maryville University on Sunday. The Rangers broke a modest two-game losing streak with a 25-18, 25-21, 26-24 win over the Saints. They are now 6-3 in GLVC play at the midway point of the conference season.

The Rangers jumped out early after a tough loss at UMSL on Saturday and never looked back. Bridget Nickel led the way once again with 13 kills and seven digs.

Cayla Flood had 27 assists to go with six digs and two more aces. The sophomore now has 80 aces for her career and is just three behind Brook Strickland for third on the school's career list.

Parkside hit just .180 for the match but did come up with eight aces and four blocks to help themselves to the victory.

The Rangers will be back at home this coming weekend for three matches. They'll begin play Saturday at 5:00 p.m. with a GLVC match against Western Division foe, Quincy University. Afterwards they'll play a non-conference match against Cardinal Stritch at approximately 7:00 p.m. Things will wrap up on Sunday at 3:00 with another league tilt, this time against Illinois Springfield.
