UWP stays close, but falls at Drury

The UW-Parkside men's basketball team suffered their third consecutive Great Lakes Valley Conference defeat after an 86-78 loss Drury Thursday night. The loss dropped the Rangers to 3-6 in conference play and 6-10 overall.
The game was very tight for virtually the entire first half, although the Rangers were able to open up a 24-17 lead. Drury responded with a 9-0 run to take a 26-24 lead. The game remained tight for the remainder of the half with Drury heading into halftime with a slight 35-32 advantage.
For most of the second half Drury held a small but consistent lead. The Rangers were able to eventually cut that lead to just one, 67-66, with just over 6 minutes to play. Drury then went on a 9-2 run to take a 76-68 lead and the Rangers never got any closer than six from that point on.
The Rangers were led by 21 points from Jordan Mach. Tim Baines added 15 points. Leneal Harris had 17; however he was 5-23 from the floor.
Next, the Rangers will face Missouri S&T at home on Thursday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m.
