Rangers Fall to Northern Michigan in Season Opener

vs. Northern Michigan

The Ranger volleyball team is competing in a tournament at Northern Michigan over the weekend. The following is a brief recap:

VERSUS NORTHERN MICHIGAN
Despite the great effort the Rangers brought to the floor, they fell to the host Northern Michigan University. Scores: 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 24-26. Tami Gleason and Addie Kramer led the team in kills with 10 a piece, and Cassy Marx and Cassie Wilkens followed with 9 and 8 respectedly. The setters dished out 36 assists.

The Rangers are back on the court tommorrow at 2 p.m. when they will take on Minnesota-Crookston. 

VERSUS MINNESOTA-CROOKSTON
After a tough fought match yesterday the Rangers took the floor today against Minnesota-Crookston. The Rangers walked away with a win of 25-16, 25-21, 25-19. The Rangers were led by Addie Kramer and Caroline Langer with 11 and 9 kills. 

The Rangers take the floor tommorrow to play Winona State and Lake Superior State. 

WINONA STATE
The Rangers took a loss to Winona State in 4 on Saturday, 21-25,16-25, 25-22, 23-25. The team was led by Addie Kramer and Tami Gleason with 16 and 10 kills, Courtney Stack also led in assists with 29.

LAKE SUPERIOR STATE
After a loss earlier in the day the Rangers came out ready beating Lake Superior State 25-13, 15-25, 23-25, 25-14, 15-6.  The team was lead by Addie Kramer and Caroline Langer with 13 and 12 kills, Cassie Wilkens led in digs with 18 and Tami Gleason had 8 blocks, the setters put up a combined  45 assists.

The Parkside Rangers will be traveling to Kentucky this coming weekend to take on Wheeling Jesuit, Gannon University, and Cal-Pa.
