The UW-Parkside women's basketball team saw its two-and-a-half game lead in the North Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference evaporate. The team came into a game at Lewis with one-game lead over the Flyers and the home team evened the standings with a decisvie 74-58 victory.
Each team is now 10-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rangers are 18-5 overall and the Flyers are 14-9.
The rematch is only five days away in the DeSimone Gymnasium. They will play for the North Division marbles Thursday, Feb. 11, at 5:30 p.m. Each team will have only three games left after that, against the same three opponents. Whoever wins the division will earn a bye in the first round of the GLVC playoffs and will host the winner of a first round game in round two.
The Rangers' only lead at Lewis was 2-0. The Flyers led 42-31 at halftime and led by as many as 20 points in the second half.
Three Rangers had 14 points including Brittany Beyer, Brittany Hogen and Amanda Gibson.
UWP shot 40 percent compared to Lewis' 52.
The Rangers out-rebounded their hosts, 35-29.
