Grant Johnson came up with 44 points; however, the Rangers fell to Saint Joseph's College in the DeSimone Gymnasium Thursday night, 87-80.
Johnson was was 13-20 from the floor and put on a show, especially late in the game. He drained six three-point shots.
The Pumas led 41-35 at halftime and then pulled away. The tenth-ranked team in the Midwest Region jumped to 17-9 overall and 11-7 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Parkside fell to 8-18 overall and 3-14 in league play.
The Rangers have one more game on the regular season schedule, at home, versus Illinois-Springfield Saturday, at 3:00 p.m. The team will play a first round game in the GLVC tournament Saturday, Feb. 27, at Kentucky Wesleyan, against either Missouri-St. Louis or Missouri S&T, at 1:00 p.m. The winner of that first-round game will play the host Panthers the following afternoon.
