The UW-Parkside women's basketball team remained undefeated in conference play with a 55-34 win at Rockhurst University Saturday afternoon. 
The Rangers move to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Hawks fell to 3-6 overall and 0-2 in league play.
UW-Parkside led the entire game. The team vaulted to a12-2 lead to start the game and Rockhurst was never able to make significant in-roads into this lead as the Rangers went into halftime with a 25-15 bulge.
 
Rockhurst tried to get some momentum going early in the second half, cutting the lead to 27-20, but the Rangers made sure those hopes were short-lived, going on a 12-2 run to take a commanding 39-22 advantage. The Rangers put it on cruise control from there as Rockhurst never got any closer than 13 points.
The Rangers got a big game from Brittany Beyer, who scored 22 points on 10-14 shooting. Jadee Rooney added 11 points for the Rangers, who saw 10 players score in the contest. 
The big story from Kansas City was the Rangers' defense, which was able to hold Rockhurst to 26 percent shooting which included a 20 percent output in the second half.
UW-Parkside out-rebounded the Hawks, 37-30, and scored 26 points directly underneath the basket. Amy Selk led the Rangers in rebounding with nine. 
Next up for the Rangers is a non-conference clash at home. The squad will host an always formidable Robert Morris club, Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 5:30 p.m. Parkside will then play an in-region game at Northern Michigan Saturday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m. (both games CST).
