The Rangers trailed, 37-31, at halftime, but opened the second half on an 8-2 run to tie the game at 39 apiece. With just over 7 minutes left to play, the teams were tied at 46 when Parkside went on a 9-2 run to open a 55-48 gap.
Rockhurst pulled within 57-54, with just under 2 minutes to play. UW-Parkside's Leneal Harris was able to come up with a clutch score and, after a defensive stop, the Rangers had the game at hand.
The Hawks came up dry on their last five possessions, thanks to a stingy Ranger defense.
The Rangers closed the final 7 minutes on an 18-8 run, which began when the score was knotted at 46.
Although there were only four lead changes during the afternoon, the score was tied seven times.
