The UW-Parkside volleyball team went 2-1 this weekend at the Crossover Tournament in Aurora. The Great Lakes Valley Conference captured the Mizuno GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Volleyball Tournament title for the first time on Sunday, taking the league challenge 23-22. The GLVC corrals the honor for the first time since the event was established in 2008.
The Rangers took on
Tiffin and
Northwood from the GLIAC Conference beating Tiffin 25-19, 25-17, 25-15. Caroline Langer led the team with 9 kills and Cassy Marx with 7 kills, along with Stacie Bower who dug up 12 balls.
Against Northwood they couldn't pull out a win, losing 18-25, 25-22, 24-26, 12-25. Addie Kramer and Cassie WIlkens were the team leaders with 10 and 9 kills.
Saturday afternoon the team played
Ferris State and never backed down, winning 25-19, 25-17, 18-25, 21-25, 15-12. Wilkens had 16 kills and 9 digs, Langer and Kramer both had 12 kills. Cayla Flood also had 37 assists. The team travels to Judson to take on Judson University this Wednesday at 7pm.
