Hawks soar at Wood Road Field

           The visiting Quincy men's soccer team turned out to be rude guests as the Hawks captured a 4-1 victory over UW-Parkside at Wood Road Field Friday afternoon. Quincy saw its overall record ascend to 8-5-0 overall and 7-4-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Rangers dropped to 6-6-2 overall and 3-6-2 in conference play.

            Quincy scored the first three goals of the game in a 5 minute span. Grant Ellison, the Hawks' leading goal scorer, started the spree with his ninth of the season at 24:47. Jack Wedemeier tallied his seventh and eighth goals of the season at 27:23 and 29:20.

            The score stood at 3-0, Quincy, at intermission. The Hawks opened the second half scoring on a Corey Eatherton goal.

            The Rangers' lone goal was scored by Austin Robb with help from Ben Kreple and Kinkade Lo. It was Robb's third goal of the season.

            Quincy put four shots on goal while the Rangers had the better of that particular stat with nine.

            The Rangers will host the final home game of the season Sunday, Oct. 17, at noon, versus Illinois-Springfield.
