Unbeaten streak ends in Louisville

Women's soccer teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference are learning that a trip to Louisville can be rather unpleasant. Just one week ago, homestanding Bellarmine took down the tenth-ranked team in the country, Indianapolis. On Friday night, No. 20 UW-Parkside came calling a met a similar fate, falling to the Knights, 1-0.

Each team was left with a 4-1-1 record in the GLVC. The Rangers suffered their first loss of the season and are now 5-1-2 overall. Bellarmine is 8-1 overall.

The lone goal of the game was scored at 22:58. Lauren Triplett gathered in a serve from Amanda Moore to tally the game-winner.

The goal was only the fifth given up all season by the Rangers. Netminder Cassie Glodowski now has a goals against average of 0.59.

The Knights put seven shots on goal while the Ranger booted three on goal. Two of those shots on goal came off the foot of Natalie Brown.

The Rangers will have their showdown with Northern Kentucky in Highland Heights Sunday afternoon. The tilt will be a rematch of last year's GLVC championship game, which the Rangers won, 1-0.
