Rough trip on I-65

@Saint Joseph's          @Indianapolis

Despite its 12-2 start prior to the beginning of the Great Lakes Valley Conference season, the UW-Parkside volleyball team got off to a tough start to kickoff the league campaign. The squad travelled to Rensselaer, Indiana, to take on the Pumas of Saint Joseph's. The home team won 25-20, 25-18, 19-25, 25-16. The Pumas came into the contest with a 5-8 mark.

The next day, the Rangers travelled 90 miles south on I-65 to Indianapolis, where they fell to the homestanding Greyhounds, 25-18, 25-21, 25-20. The Greyhounds are ranked No. 9 in the country and were coming off their lone loss, to Lewis, and are now 15-1 overall.

The Rangers hit for a higher percentage than their hosts at Saint Joseph's, .230-.223. The team hit for a sparkling .385 percentage in the fourth set, only to see the Pumas pound out a .441 percentage.

Serving aces were a key to the match. Saint Joseph's logged 11, while the Rangers could not muster an ace.

At Indianapolis Tami Gleason led the team in kills with nine. She also paced the squad in digs with 16. The 'Hounds hit for a .299 percentage and the Rangers struck at .184.
