The Ranger softball team found Kentucky to be unhospitible with four losses in a two city stop. UW-Parkside lost a pair at Bellarmine on Saturday, 7-6 in eight innings before dropping Game 2, 9-7. Moving on to Highland Heights, the Rangers were beaten twice via slaughter rule in 12-3, 8-0, on Sunday.
The quad losses drops the Ranger record to 17-19 overall and 9-11 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The top eight teams at season's end advance to the GLVC tournament and the Rangers will have to battle to gain a spot. See standings:

In the opener at Bellarmine, the Rangers tallied in the top of the eight. A sacrifice fly off the bat of
Christine Holthus drove in
Alea McNellis, who singled. The Knights charged back in their turn, scoring a pair. A one out single to center plated a pair, ending the game with one out.
Lisa Casey and McNellis were hot for the visitors, each coming up with three hits.
Parkside turned a triple play in the BU opener. in the fourth inning, Casey, playing first base, speared a line drive, stepped on the bag and fired to short to triple off a runner at second.
In the second game, Bellarmine scored three times in both the fifth and sixth innings to wipe away a 5-3 Ranger advantage.
McNellis continued to swing a hot bat with three more hits. Casey hit her fourth home run of the season.
At Northern Kentucky, the Norse put on a 16-hit attack in the opener and a 12-hit barrage in Game 2. In the second game, the Rangers left 10 on base in five innings.
The make-up home doubleheader versus Missouri-St. Louis slated for Tuesday has been called off. The team will next be in action Thursday at 3 p.m. versus St. Francis. It will be Parkside Pink Day. Click on the following for more details:
