The Ranger women's basketball team is only one of two teams to own a win over Northern Kentucky. The rematch, at NKU's 9,600-seat Bank of Kentucky Center, had a different result this time around. The Norse led from box-to-wire and posted a 57-44 victory.
Northern Kentucky, ranked No. 4 in the country, is now 22-2 overall. The defending national champions are now 13-2 in league play and lead the Eastern Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, overtaking UW-Parkisde.
The Rangers, who are ranked No. 7 in the Midwest Region, are 17-8 overall and 13-3 in league play.
Northern Kentucky raced to a 13-3 lead. Parkside gradually attempted to reel the Norse in and cut the lead in half by halftime at 25-20.
The Rangers forged to within 27-26 3 minutes into the second half. The deficit returned to double digits just 6 minutes later.
UW-Parkside chopped the lead down again, to six at 45-39 with 6:36 to go, before the Norse pulled away for the final time.
The final margin of 13 points, was Northern Kentucky's biggest.
