The UW-Parkside volleyball squad had little trouble in its trip to the south side of Chicago Tuesday night. The team took host Illinois Tech in three straight sets, 25-15, 26-24, 25-16.
The non-conference win boosts Parkside's record to 19-8. The Scarlet Hawks dropped to 12-16. The win was the fourth in a row for the Rangers.
The Rangers are now only one with a way from posting a 20-plus win season...something that has not happened since 1997.
Tami Gleason was in double digits in kills at Illinois Tech. She put down 11 in 17 attempts and logged a .471 hitting percentage. As a team, the Rangers hit at a .365 clip, its second highest mark of the season. The visitors hit for a stunning .522 percentage in the third and final set.
UW-Parkside returns home for conference play this weekend. The Rangers will host Kentucky Wesleyan Friday, Oct., 23, starting at 7 p.m. Southern Indiana pays a visit to the DeSimone Gymnasium Saturday, Oct. 24. The matinee contest begins at 3 p.m.
