Box Score

The 2008-09 UW-Parkside women's basketball team is on one of the biggest rolls in program history. After losing its first four games, the team has now won seven in a row after an 80-62 come-back win at
Missouri-St. Louis Friday night.

The Rangers found themselves on the short end of a 29-17 score with 4:27 to go in the first half. The Tritons raced to the lead early, thanks in part to canning eight of their first nine shots from the floor, three of which were three-point shots from Kelly Mitchell.

A jumper by Brittany Beyer, a layup from Amanda Gibson and a pair of free throws by Beyer pulled the Rangers to within 36-32 at intermission.

The second half is where the fun began for the visitors. A 14-4 run to start the second stanza turned the game around and swayed the momentum in favor of the Rangers. The squad gradually pulled away, leading by as many as 22 points at its widest gap.

UW-Parkside shot 57 percent in the second half, limited the Tritons to 30 percent shooting, and out-scored the home team 48-26.

Gibson led all scorers with 25 points. She has led the Rangers in scoring in all but one game this season. Jadee Rooney notched a career high, pouring in 23 points. Brittany Hogen and Jen Moran rounded out the double digit scorers with 12 and 11 points respectively.

UW-Parkside heads the Eastern Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 3-0 record. UMSL fell to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in league play.

The Rangers will play at Rockhurst Sunday at 1 p.m. That game, and all Ranger women's games, can be heard live on the internet by selecting 'Game Day' at the top right-hand portion of this page and then selecting 'live audio.'
