The Rangers returned to Great Lakes Valley Conference play Friday night and suffered their third loss in as many tries. The UW-Parkside men's basketball team fell at Missouri-St. Louis, 83-70, dropping their overall record to 3-8.
UW-Parkside never played from the lead. The Tritons raced to a 19-9 lead just 7 minutes into the game. The Rangers pulled to within two twice, before UMSL pulled away for good.
The Tritons held a 35-29 halftime lead before bumping its lead back up to double digits 6 minutes into the session.
LaVontay Fenderson scored 18 points for Parkside, but was limited to only four in the second half. Dave Keane also had 18 points for the Rangers and buried four three-point shots in eight attempts.
DaMarcus Bell and #D.J. Dantzler# added 13 points apiece for the Rangers.
Missouri-St. Louis notched 10 points off of fast breaks, while the Rangers were held off the scoresheet in that category.
UW-Parkside looks for its initial conference win at Rockhurst Sunday at 3 p.m.
