The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its weekly award winners for indoor track & field on Feb. 2 with University of Wisconsin-Parkside distance runner Moriah Palmer snagging Women's Runner of the Week accolades.
 
Palmer tallies the honor after winning a pair of events on Saturday at the Green & White Invitational, helping the Rangers secure the team title inside Petretti Fieldhouse for the second consecutive week. The criminal justice major opened the meet with a victory in the 800-meter run, owning a seven-second buffer on the rest of the 11-competitor field after completing the four lap race in two minutes, 17.83 seconds. The junior hit a provisional qualifying mark in the mile, winning the race by a 26 second margin in a time of 4:55.86. Palmer's time is currently the fourth fastest in NCAA Division II right now while the junior has hit the provisional qualifying standard in four events this indoor season (800-meters, mile, 3,000-meters, and 5,000-meters).
 
This is the second GLVC Indoor Track & Field Runner of the Week honor for Palmer who also secured the distinction on Jan. 22, 2015. A cross country All-American in the fall, Palmer was also the GLVC Runner of the Week during the cross country season on Sept. 29, 2015.
