The Great Lakes Valley Conference doled out its weekly award winners on Jan. 11 with University of Wisconsin-Parkside student-athlete Andy Mazurczak earning Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
The senior guard finished the week averaging 25.5 points per game, 8.5 rebounds per game, and 4.0 assists per game, guiding the Rangers (10-2, 3-1 GLVC) to a pair of home victories over GLVC interdivisional foes to extend their win streak to six games.
 
The sport management major poured on a season-high 27 points in an 89-69 whitewash of Missouri University S&T on Thursday. Mazurczak finished the game 10-for-11 from the field while securing nine rebounds and four assists as the Rangers handed the Miners their first blemish of the conference slate.
 
Two days later against Drury University, The Norridge, Illinois, native piled on 24 points and eight rebounds, helping UW-Parkside down Drury 84-67 in a nationally televised contest and extending the Rangers home conference winning streak to 26 games.
 
The senior closed the week shooting 73.1 percent from the field (19-for-26) with an assist to turnover ratio of 2.7.
 
This is the second GLVC Player of the Week honor for Mazurczak who also tallied the honor on Nov. 23, 2015.
