The College Sports Information Directors of America released its Academic All-District award winners for men's soccer on Oct. 29 with University of Wisconsin-Parkside student-athlete Ryan Shogren earning a spot on the District 4 team.
 
The biological sciences major lands a spot on the 11-player District 4 First Team for NCAA Division II and is one of seven Great Lakes Valley Conference student-athletes to be honored. The junior finished tied for the team lead in goals in 2015, netting six while finishing second on the Rangers (6-8-3, 6-6-3 GLVC) in points (13). Shogren appeared in 16 games for UW-Parkside this season, making 13 starts while closing the season a perfect three-for-three on penalty kicks. A two-time Academic All-GLVC selection, Shogren additionally provided the game-winning goal against the University of Indianapolis on Sept. 13, giving Parkside the 1-0 overtime win.
 
The 2015 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by the CoSIDA, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. To be eligible a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at her current institution and be nominated by his sports information director. District 4 for NCAA Division II is comprised of the GLVC, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.

First-team Academic All-District soccer honorees advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this fall.

The Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the third year of the expanded Academic All-America program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America Team combines NAIA, Canadian, and two-year schools.
