Amanda Johnson was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year on Oct. 24, helping the University of Wisconsin-Parkside women's cross country team to a third place finish at the 2015 GLVC Championships.

Johnson traversed the 6,000-meter course at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course in 22 minutes, 28.7 seconds, placing 10th overall. Johnson was additionally recognized as All-GLVC by virtue of her top 15 finish. She became the first Ranger to win the GLVC Freshman of the Year award since Hope Orvold (nee Christie) won the honor in 2007.
