The Great Lakes Valley Conference released its Runner of the Week award winners on Sept. 16 with University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's cross country runner Jake Dubnicka securing the accolade for the first time in his career.

The junior geography major tallies the honor after winning the individual title on Saturday at the Midwest Open and helping the 13th-ranked Rangers win the team title. Dubnicka completed the 8,000-meter course at the Dannehl National Cross Country Course in 25 minutes, 29.1 seconds, owning a 10-second buffer on the rest of the 133-competitor field. The Hartland, Wisconsin native became the first Ranger to secure the individual crown since Ben Orvold tallied the feat in 2010 and helped Parkside win the team title by a comfortable 25-point margin at the 11-team event.

Dubnicka is the first Ranger to win GLVC Runner of the Week accolades since Evan Lewandowski claimed the honor on Oct. 21, 2014.
