KENOSHA, Wis. (May 6, 2013)-- The University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's golf team is 16th after day one of the NCAA Division II Super Regional hosted by the Rangers at The Club at Strawberry Creek.
UW-Parkside shot a team score of 298 on Monday, sitting in 16th place in the 20-team Super Regional and sit nine strokes back of cracking the top five and earning a bid to the NCAA Division II Championships.
Jake Wisniewski paced the Rangers, shooting an even par 72 to open the tournament.The junior was one over par after the back nine before collecting two birdies in the front nine to finish even and tied for 22nd overall.
Keith Buntrock tallied a one-over 73 to finish day one tied for 26th while
Kyle Kolberg was 63rd (76),
Nick Corban was 78th (77) while
Brian Krupo was 94th (79).
Great Lakes Valley Conference Champion University of Missouri-Saint Louis sits atop the team leader board after day one, compiling a team score of 283, finishing two strokes ahead of Bellarmine University. University of Central Missouri's Robby Hughey leads the 108-player field after one round, finishing seven under par (65).
Action resumes on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. with the Rangers teeing off in the morning session.
