Katie Bowers was promoted to Associate AD for Sports Medicine in August of 2021.
She originally joined the Parkside Athletic Staff as the Director of Sports Medicine in April of 2018. Bowers oversees the athletic training department for the Rangers’ 15 athletic programs.

Bowers worked at the University of Illinois Springfield from 2013-2018 as the Head Athletic Trainer where she oversaw the athletic training department for the Prairie Stars’ 17 athletic teams. Prior to being the Head Athletic Trainer, Bowers was the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Prairie Stars’ from 2012-2013.

Bowers has been a BOC certified athletic trainer since 2010. She is currently licensed as an athletic trainer in both the state of Wisconsin and Illinois. She holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification (CSCS) through the NSCA. She also holds memberships in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association and the College Athletic Trainers’ Society.

The Hartland, Wis., native holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from UW-Eau Claire in 2010. She holds a Master of the Arts in Exercises, Sport, and Leisure with an Athletic Training Emphasis from Kent State University in 2012 where she served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Football and Cross Country and Track and Field teams.
