Dominick Liacone was named Graduate Assistant for Broadcasting & Strategic Communications with the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Athletic Department in July 2025. In this role, Liacone will contribute to the department’s live broadcasts, digital content, and overall media coverage of Parkside Athletics.
Liacone arrives at Parkside after earning his undergraduate degree from Ball State University, where he majored in Media (Sports Production) and minored in Sport Administration, graduating with a 4.0 GPA. His combination of academic excellence and hands-on experience positions him to make an immediate impact within Parkside’s sport communication efforts.
While at Ball State, Liacone gained extensive on-air and production experience through Ball State Sports Link, serving as a play-by-play announcer for more than 20 ESPN+ events. He also produced a variety of live and on-demand athletic broadcasts. In addition, he served as one of the lead radio voices for Ball State Women’s Basketball through LEARFIELD and WMUN “The Talk of Muncie.”
Liacone’s broadcasting experience extends into summer collegiate baseball, where he worked with the Lafayette Aviators and Bismarck Larks. His responsibilities included play-by-play commentary, media relations, game recaps, and social media support.
He has earned national and statewide recognition for his broadcasting work, including being named the number one collegiate sports broadcaster in the country by the Broadcast Education Association. He was also honored as the top football and basketball radio play-by-play announcer in Indiana by the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters in 2024.
