Head Coach Troy Fabiano begins his 17th year of overseeing the women’s soccer program at UW-Parkside in 2014-2015, having built the Rangers into a national powerhouse.Under Fabiano's direction UW-Parkside has notched 15 consecutive winning campaigns, seven NCAA Division II Tournament appearances (2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2008, 2004 and 2003) and four Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships (2010, 2008, 2004 and 2003).

The 2010 Midwest Region Coach of the Year and a three-time GLVc Coach of the Year selection (2008, 2004, 2003), Fabiano's teams have made three trips to the NCAA Sweet 16 including a regional championship and a trip to the quarterfinals in 2008. He owns a career mark of 204-73-26 in 16 years at UW-Parkside, notching his 200th career win on Oct. 20, 2013 to become the 21st active NCAA Division II coach to eclipse the 200-win barrier.

The Ranger mentor produced UWP’s first All-American in women’s soccer in defender Stefanie Strauss in 2004 and another All-American selection, Lisa Gorski, one year later. In 2008, the All-Americans doubled with awards bestowed upon Meredith Novak and Lauki’i Cheng. Shannon Becker joined that elite group in 2010 as she was named an All-American by two different organizations while Cheng became the first two-time All-American in 2012.

In 2013, the Rangers made their fourth straight trip to the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round and finishing the season with a 14-5-3 overall record. Fabiano's squad boasted a perfect 10-0 mark at Wood Road Field and advanced to the GLVC Tournament Championship Game.

In 2012, the Ranger returned to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season, eventually advancing to the NCAA Midwest Region Final for the second time in three years. The 2012 Rangers won nine straight games during the regular season and went 686 minutes without allowing a goal, ending the season ranked No. 25 in the NSCAA Rankings.

UW-Parkside returned to the postseason in 2011, advancing to the second round before falling to eventual national runner-up Grand Valley State.

The Rangers returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 on the strength of the school's fourth conference championship under Fabiano. Parkside defeated Northern Kentucky 3-2 in the GLVC Championship game to earn the automatic berth in the national tournament. The Rangers finished 2010 with a 16-3-2 record which included a stirring shootout victory in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The 2010 team had six players named to All-GLVC teams with Becker earning All-American status while Cheng and Kristen Benson were both named all-region. The Rangers checked in at No. 15 in the final national poll.

In 2008, the Rangers posted an undefeated regular season, the first in school history. The team went on to log an 18-1-1 record, which is its best ever. In that landmark season, UW-Parkside scored all four of the GLVC’s major individual awards including Coach of the Year; Offensive Player of the Year (Novak); Defensive Player of the Year (Cheng) and Newcomer of the Year (Becker). The 2008 club finished with a national ranking of No. 6 in the land.

Fabiano’s only losing season was his first when he inherited a depleted squad of just 13 players. Once he was able to get his own recruiting classes in, the Rangers have enjoyed 12 consecutive winning seasons and have established themselves on the national women's soccer map.

The Ranger mentor began his coaching career as a men’s assistant at his alma mater, Robert Morris. Fabiano then went on to become the interim head men’s coach at NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois, before returning to his hometown of Kenosha to take the assistant position with the women’s program in 1996. After a one season, Fabiano advanced to head coach. He led the Rangers to the GLVC’s Final Four in 2000 and to the league championship game in 2001 prior to winning it all for the first time in 2003.

The coach had a superlative playing career before going on to be a highly successful coach. Fabiano played locally at Kenosha Bradford High School. He earned a scholarship to play soccer at Robert Morris College, an NCAA Division I school in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. While at Robert Morris, Fabiano was member of the All-Northeast Conference first team all four years. He was the Northeast Conference Player of the Year and was 10th in the nation in scoring in his senior season.

Fabiano’s sparkling soccer skills were employed in the professional ranks after his term at Robert Morris. He played one season with the Pittsburgh Stingers of the CISL; one season with perennial power Milwaukee Wave of the NPSL; and one season with the Milwaukee Rampage of the USISL.
