Javier Marin joined Parkside Athletics as the Women's Soccer Graduate Assistant Coach on August 1, 2020.

The Madrid, Spain native comes to Parkside with an array of educational and coaching experience. Marin's post-secondary education started at Complutense University of Madrid where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 2011. Marin received another bachelor's degree from Complutense in Elementary Education & Early Childhood with minors in English as a second language and Catholic Religion. Marin also has Master's degrees in Bilingual Education from Francisco de Victoria University, and School Administration from St. George University.

Before joining the coaching staff, Marin played soccer in Spain from 2001 to 2016 for Alcotanes FC, Santa Maria del Pilar FC, Pinos de Moratalaz FC, Estudiantes FC, and Zarzquemada FC. He also has vast coaching experience in Spain and the United States. His time in coaching started in 2012 with Valderribas Club as the U16 coach until 2016. Marin also split time from 2013-16 coaching FC Zarzaquemada as the Head Soccer Coach in Region III of Community of Madrid. One of his more recent coaching experiences came from South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he was the girl's head soccer coach from 2018-19. During those two years, South Pointe had an overall record of 52-15-2. In 2019, the team won the AAAA Region III Championship for the first time in school history. After the 2019 season, Marin was named to the Top 50 Leaders & Coaches list by Band, the Sports Management App.
