Dejane' James joined Parkside Athletics as a Graduate Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball on Aug. 1, 2019.
James graduated in the Spring of 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Johnson C. Smith University. Dejane' was at JCSU for one year after attending Hampton University where she played basketball for three years, accumulating Dean's List Honors every semester. While at Hampton, the Hartford, Conn. native was the starting point guard on the 2017 MEAC tournament championship team that went on to play Duke in the NCAA tournament.Â
James played basketball and graduated from Weaver High School, the same school that NBA player Rick Mahorn attended. While at Weaver, she earned All-State, All-Conference and Scholar Athlete Honors. Dejane' also won a state championship with Capital Prep High School her sophomore year.
