Gabby Vaughan

Gabby Vaughan was named Assistant Softball Coach at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in July 2025.

Vaughan joins the Rangers after spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at Wayne State University, where she worked with the Warriors softball program. During her time in Detroit, she played a key role in player development and recruiting, while helping guide four student-athletes to All-GLIAC recognition. Her first season saw Rylie Josephson earn First Team All-GLIAC honors, with Shelby Miller named to the Second Team, and Abby Favela and Logan Forman earning Honorable Mention nods.

Originally from Chesapeake, Va., Vaughan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Norfolk State University in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Biology. She is completed her master’s degree in Exercise & Sports Science from Wayne State.

As a student-athlete, Vaughan had a decorated five-year career (2019–23) at Norfolk State, where she appeared in 202 games and made 194 starts across multiple positions. She posted a career batting average of .288 with 164 hits, 23 home runs, and 124 RBI, while setting the program’s all-time record with 42 doubles. Her .497 slugging percentage and .354 on-base percentage reflected her offensive impact, and she showed defensive versatility with starts at first base, outfield, designated player, and third base.

Vaughan was a two-time All-MEAC selection—earning First Team honors as an outfielder in 2021 and Second Team as a first baseman in 2023. She was named to the MEAC All-Tournament Team in 2023 and was a four-time MEAC All-Academic Team honoree. Off the field, she also served as Treasurer of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) during her time at NSU.
