Zak is entering his second season of coaching with the Rangers where he will be responsible for working with the hitters and outfielders, as well as serving as the team's strength and conditioning coordinator.
Prior to coming to UW-Parkside, Rivera served as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. In 2010, he helped lead the Hawks to the District 9 Championship game.
Zak finished his playing career in 2006 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. At UW-Milwaukee, he was a career .300 hitter and also earned All-Horizon League and All-Tournament awards. Zak was also awarded with multiple player of the week honors at UW-Milwaukee.
He finished his career and his education by completing his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology as well as his Masters degree in Business Administration
