Stephen Pifer is one of America’s most versatile distance runners, with personal bests ranging from 3:38.61 for 1500 meters to 2:18:19 for the marathon. In fact, in 2009 Stephen was one of only two Americans to crack the top 40 in 800, 1500, 3K and 5K. As a high school star in Edwardsville, Ill., he became only the sixth Illinoisan to win state titles in cross country and in the 1600 and 3200 the same year. At Colorado, Pifer was a four all-Big 12 selection as well as a four-time all-American and ran on two NCAA championship cross country teams. He has competed in two U.S. Olympic Trials, advancing to the semis in the 1500 in 2012. He has broken 4:00 in the mile for 10 consecutive seasons.
