The Mission Statement of the National SAAC

"The mission of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image."

About the UW-Parkside SAAC
The Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) consists of two student-athlete representatives from each athletic team. These representatives were selected by the coaching staff to be the liaisons between the Athletics Department and their respective teams. SAAC meets every other Wednesday throughout the 2007-08 academic year to discuss critical issues that affect the experiences of student-athletes, such as the dangers of Facebook and Myspace, eating disorders, sexual assault and safety, peer pressure, and alcohol consumption. SAAC meetings also give representatives an opportunity to discuss new NCAA legislation and coordinate community service projects.
