Rangers Close Regular Season at Grand Valley State in Final GLIAC Series

KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside travels to Grand Valley State this weekend for its final regular season GLIAC conference series of the season. The four-game set begins Thursday, April 30, at 2 p.m., continues with a doubleheader Friday, May 1, at noon and 2 p.m., and concludes Saturday, May 2, with first pitch set for 11 a.m.

Scouting Parkside
Parkside heads into this weekend's series with a 24-19 overall record and a 10-10 mark in GLIAC play, currently sitting fourth in the conference standings. The Rangers posted a 3-2 record this past week, picking up a win over Rockford University before splitting their series against Roosevelt University. Leading the way was Jackson Lindquist, who earned GLIAC Player of the Week and NCBWA Midwest Hitter of the Week honors after batting .429 across five games with a 1.048 slugging percentage and four home runs.

The Rangers' offense continues to be powered by Benjamin Loyd, who ranks seventh in the GLIAC with a .380 batting average. Through 42 games, Loyd has totaled 65 hits, including 14 doubles, three triples, and two home runs, while driving in 32 runs. He also owns a .520 slugging percentage and has crossed the plate 41 times. Joe Mrowiec remains another key contributor for Parkside, batting .325 with a 1.055 OPS, which ranks 10th in the GLIAC. In 39 games, Mrowiec has recorded 38 hits, including six doubles, two triples, and a team-leading nine home runs.

Fresh off earning GLIAC Player of the Week honors, Jackson Lindquist is batting .329 through 73 at-bats and has been especially dominant lately, launching five home runs over the last seven games. Dylan Sayles has also provided steady production, hitting .331 through 127 at-bats. He ranks 16th in the GLIAC with 42 hits and carries a .915 OPS.

On the mound, Brennen Miller continues to pace the Rangers, holding a 3-3 record while totaling 48 innings pitched. He has recorded 37 strikeouts this season, ranking 13th in the GLIAC, and his 5.06 ERA sits seventh in the conference. Keegan Waters and Leo Burger have also been key contributors to Parkside's pitching staff, adding 36 and 35 strikeouts, respectively. As a team, the Rangers rank fourth in the GLIAC with a 6.42 ERA.
 
Scouting Grand Valley State 
Grand Valley State enters this weekend's series with a 37-8 overall record and a 16-4 mark in GLIAC play. Nationally, the Lakers rank seventh.

Offensively, Grand Valley State is led by Evan Morrison, who is batting .423 through 194 at-bats. Morrison ranks second in the GLIAC and 32nd nationally in batting average. He has totaled 82 hits this season, leading the conference and ranking sixth in the nation, while his 73 runs scored rank third nationally.

Caleb Estrada has also been a major force for the Lakers, hitting .394 to rank third in the GLIAC. His 74 hits are second in the conference, and he carries a 1.138 OPS. Estrada's 13 home runs lead the GLIAC. Ryan Stimac and Jovan Gill have also provided strong offensive production, batting .365 and .355, respectively.
As a team, Grand Valley State leads the GLIAC in multiple offensive categories, including batting average (.337), hits (516), on-base percentage (.441), and runs scored (439).

On the mound, Collin Bradley has been dominant for the Lakers, carrying a perfect 8-0 record that ranks first in the GLIAC and 23rd nationally. Bradley also leads the conference with a 0.92 WHIP, which ranks fifth across all of Division II. Over 68.2 innings pitched, he has totaled 48 strikeouts.

Jackson Kees has also been a major contributor, posting an impressive 8-1 record. He ranks fifth in the GLIAC with a 3.25 ERA and has added 46 strikeouts this season.

As a staff, Grand Valley State leads the GLIAC with a conference-best 3.58 team ERA.
