Parkside Hits the Road for Midweek Matchup, Weekend Series Ahead

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Parkside Rangers return to action this week with a five-game slate, opening with a non-conference midweek road matchup at Rockford University before heading into a four-game conference series against Purdue Northwest. The first three games of the series will be played on the road, with Sunday's finale set for Historic Simmons Field.

Scouting Parkside
The Rangers enter the week at 18–16 overall with a 5–7 mark in conference play. As a team, they are batting .268 with a 6.97 ERA. Parkside picked up two non-conference wins over Viterbo University and Purdue Northwest last week, and earned a split in a four-game series against Davenport University—securing the program's first wins over Davenport since April 2024 and its first-ever series split with the Panthers.

Benjamin Loyd continues to lead the Rangers offensively, batting .382 on the season with a .909 OPS, ranking sixth overall in the GLIAC in batting average, and has been especially productive over the last six games, hitting .542 with 13 hits and seven RBIs. Dylan Sayles is hitting .297 on the year with a .875 OPS across 91 at-bats, and over his last six games is batting .529 with nine hits, including a home run, and five RBIs. Joe Mrowiec leads the Rangers in run production with 26 RBIs on the season.

On the mound, Brennen Miller picked up a win against Davenport this past weekend to improve to 2–3 on the season. Keegan Waters turned in an impressive outing against the Panthers, recording a career-high eight strikeouts over 5.2 innings; he now holds a 4.84 ERA with 30 total strikeouts on the year. Leo Berger secured his second save of the season for the Rangers, striking out five batters, while Isaiah Terrell also recorded a save over the weekend.

Scouting Rockford University
Rockford University enters the midweek matchup with a 15–9 overall record, including a 5–7 mark in conference play. As a team, the Regents are batting .313 and carry a 3.87 ERA.

Leading the Regents offensively is Kadin Bergstrom, who is batting .360 on the season with a 1.146 OPS. Bergstrom also leads the team in run production with 31 RBIs, including nine home runs. Zach Fabis has been another key contributor at the plate, hitting .341 with 29 hits across 85 at-bats. 

Fabis has also been effective on the mound, posting a 6–0 record with a 2.39 ERA, leading the team with 35 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .216 batting average. Alex Easton has added to the pitching staff with a 3–1 record and 29 strikeouts over 39.2 innings pitched, while Sidney Atkins leads the team with three saves.

Historically, the Rangers are 2-2 against the Regents. 
 
Scouting Purdue Northwest
The Pride enter with a 13–16 overall record and a 5–7 mark in conference play. As a team, they are batting .273 and hold a 6.33 ERA.

Drew Kosteba leads Purdue Northwest offensively with a .333 batting average and an .849 OPS, ranking 16th in the GLIAC in batting average while also pacing the Pride with 22 RBIs. Billy Chidsey and Joey Guilian have also contributed at the plate, hitting .307 and .284, respectively. 

On the mound, Owen Walkowiak has made an impact with a 3.38 ERA and a 2–3 record on the season, leading the team with 27 strikeouts through 32.0 innings pitched. Colin Pfeifer has also been a key contributor, recording 19 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .200 batting average and earning a save.

Historically, the Rangers hold a 15–17 record against the Pride. This season, the two teams have split their non-conference matchups, with each side earning a win.
