KENOSHA, Wis. — Parkside came up short against Davenport, falling 23-8 on Sunday afternoon at Historic Simmons Field after the Panthers built an early lead.

Davenport struck quickly, scoring seven runs in the top of the first inning behind a two-run ground-rule double, a passed ball, and a two-run home run to take an early 7-0 lead.

Parkside answered in the bottom half with four runs. Angel Rades and Benjamin Loyd opened the inning with singles before Dylan Sayles drove in a run with a double. Joe Mrowiec followed with an RBI groundout, and Jackson Lindquist added an RBI single. Nathan Hanel later brought home a run on a fielder's choice to cut the deficit to 7-4.

The Panthers added three runs in the second, highlighted by a solo home run and RBI singles, and tacked on another in the third to extend the lead to 11-4.

Parkside picked up a run in the third as Lindquist came around to score on a wild pitch, making it 11-5.

Davenport broke the game open in the fourth inning, plating 10 runs on a three-run home run, a bases-clearing double, and multiple RBI hits to push the advantage to 21-5. The Panthers added two more runs in the fifth on a two-run home run to make it 23-5.

Parkside responded in the sixth inning when Max Johnson launched a three-run home run to left field—his first career home run—scoring John Wubben and Mason Mitacek to cut the deficit to 23-8.

The Rangers recorded 11 hits on the afternoon, with Lindquist and Sayles each posting multi-hit performances. Johnson's home run accounted for Parkside's final runs of the day.

On the mound, multiple Parkside pitchers saw action, with Braden Sayles and Jack Dykas combining for scoreless innings in relief late in the game.
