Scouting Parkside
The Parkside Rangers head into their midweek nonconference matchup against the Purdue Northwest Lions holding a 12–8 overall record, fresh off a statement win over No. 7 Wayne State this past Sunday.
Offensively,
Benjamin Loyd continues to pace the Rangers, hitting .329 with 23 hits and 11 RBIs.
Joe Mrowiec and
Nathan Hanel have also been key contributors at the plate, each batting .306, while
Josh Wicker leads the team with 17 RBIs.
Trace Kirchberg provides power in the lineup, leading the team with four home runs and adding 15 RBIs.
On the mound,
Brennen Miller leads the team with a 3.27 ERA, recording 21 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched this season.
Nathan Ciemny has been a key contributor as well, holding a 3–2 record and earning a big win over No. 7 Wayne State this past weekend. He has limited opposing hitters to a .193 batting average while tallying 28 strikeouts on the year.
Isaiah Terrell also made an impact out of the bullpen, securing his first save of the season this past weekend.
Scouting Purdue Northwest
The Purdue Northwest Lions enter the midweek matchup with a 6–11 overall record. Drew Kosteba leads the offense, batting .323 with 20 hits and eight RBIs. Brayden Barrett and Joey Guiliano have also been strong at the plate, hitting .321 and .300, respectively, while Denham Kozy leads the team with 12 RBIs.
On the mound, Mitchell Stanton has been a standout, holding a 2–0 record with 18 strikeouts over 22 innings pitched while limiting opponents to a .254 batting average. Out of the bullpen, both Colin Pfeifer and Brett Bounds have recorded a save for the Lions this season.
