KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside men's soccer team will close out the 2026 regular season with two home matches this week. Parkside will host Roosevelt University on Friday, before hosting St. Cloud State for senior day on Sunday.
Parkside enters the final week of the 2026 regular season still with aspirations of hosting a first round GLIAC Tournament match. The Rangers are in control of their own destiny in that regard. With two wins this week, that would guarantee that the Rangers would be playing one more match at Wood Road Field. Parkside could finish as high as third in the GLIAC standings and need one win over the final two matches to guarantee themselves a spot in the GLIAC postseason.
The Rangers went 1-1 last week, dropping a 2-0 decision to No. 21 Saginaw Valley State on Friday before rebounding with a 1-0 win over Davenport in Grand Rapids on Saturday. Gio Magana scored the game winner in the win, scoring his first career goal in the fifth minute.
Parkside has been a formidable foe in Kenosha. At Wood Road Field this season the Rangers have a 4-1-1 record and have outscored their opponents 10-4. Four of the five goals for Parkside's leading scorer Kevin Sosa have come in Kenosha as well.
SCOUTING ROOSEVELT (6-3-5; 4-3-3 GLIAC):
Roosevelt enters the final week of the 2026 regular season sitting in third in the GLIAC standings. They are just one win away from locking in a home playoff game for the upcoming GLIAC Tournament. They still have an outside chance of catching either Saginaw Valley State or Northern Michigan to finish in the top two in the GLIAC and earn a first-round abye, but they will need to win both of their matches and help from the teams above them.
The Lakers are winless over their last three matches, with a draw against SVSU and losses by 2-1 finals against St. Cloud State and Northern Michigan. Roosevelt has struggled on the road this season with a 2-3-1 record, compared to an unbeaten 4-0-4 record on the turf in Arlington Heights.
SCOUTING ST. CLOUD STATE (4-9-2; 2-6-2 GLIAC):
St. Cloud State enters the final week of the regular season in a tie with Davenport for the sixth and final spot in the GLIAC Tournament. The Huskies are in control of their own destiny thanks to a 1-0-1 record against Davenport this season. SCSU will take on Purdue Northwest on Friday in Hammond before closing the regular season against the Rangers on Sunday afternoon. With two wins and multiple losses by PNW and Parkside, St. Cloud State could finish as high as fourth in the GLIAC standings.
The Huskies went 1-1 last week, defeating Roosevelt 2-1 on Wednesday before falling to Northern Michigan 4-0 in Marquette. They are 2-4-1 away from home this season.
