Martin, Rangers Finish Second At Vic Godfrey Open

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside men's cross country team opened its 2025 campaign with a strong showing Friday evening at the Vic Godfrey Open on the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The Rangers, finished second overall in the eight-team field with 57 points, trailing only Marquette, who won the meet with 25.

Parkside was led by sophomore Doug Martin, who nearly captured the individual title. Martin crossed the line in 18:42.3 for second place, just one second behind the winner. The Rangers packed well behind him, with Cayton Cratch (19:14.3, 10th), Connor Sheahan (19:21.5, 13th), Jose Monroy (19:22.8, 14th), and Beckett Pawlak (19:44.5, 19th) rounding out the scoring lineup.

Isaac Fullmer (19:48.0, 21st) and Amadeo Cortes Leclou(20:02.1, 27th) also turned in top-30 performances for the Green and White.

Marquette claimed the team championship with 25 points, while Parkside (57) secured the runner-up spot. Carthage (87), Winona State (99), and Wisconsin Track Club (127) completed the top five.

The Rangers return to action on Saturday, September 27, when they host the Lucian Rosa Invitational at 11:00 a.m. on the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course. The Lucian Rosa is one of the premier regular season meets in Division II, drawing teams from across the country for an early preview of the championship course. Parkside will also host the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional and National Championships in November.
